19 million Bitcoins have been mined. As predicted by Satoshi Nakamoto, the man who is said to be the creator of Bitcoin, now there are only 2 million Bitcoins left to mine.

Citing Gizchina, Sunday (3/4/2022), the last Bitcoin mining is estimated to occur in 2140.

Earlier on April 1, 2022, Bitcoin reached a new milestone. Analysis of the blockchain shows 730,000 blocks of the blockchain resulted in the 19 millionth Bitcoin mining.

Bitcoin has also become a crypto currency that is increasingly rare. The reason is that now 90 percent of Bitcoins are already circulating in the market.

Previously, the creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto decided to limit the number of Bitcoins to 21 million Bitcoins.

Can’t Mine Again After 21 Million Bitcoin

Once 21 million Bitcoins have been mined, it will no longer be possible to mine new money. The reason is, the Bitcoin code does not allow mining of new tokens after reaching this threshold.

“Once a specified number of coins have been released, all incentives can be fully funded by transactions and there is no inflation,” said Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity remains unknown.

According to Chainalysis analysis, the reality is that there are actually no 19 million bitcoins on the market. The blockchain research analysis firm says more than 20 percent of the 19 million bitcoins are in lost wallets.

Its Value is Predicted to Continue Soaring

Wallet holders also kept their money in their wallets carefully for several years. In fact, Nakamoto’s bitcoin wallet hasn’t moved since 2010.

Like gold, the amount of Bitcoin also has a limit. Now, Bitcoin is establishing itself as a form of store of value. Reducing the amount of Bitcoin makes its value increase even more.

This is what makes analysts believe, the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase in the years to come.
