The price of Bitcoin (BTC) held steady around the price level of USD 40,000 or around Rp. 572.6 million from Friday, to Saturday. Meanwhile, several alternative cryptocurrencies (Altcoins) are in the lead

Altcoins’ gains over the past few days suggest a greater risk appetite among crypto traders. BTC and Ethereum (ETH) are up 2 percent over the past 24 hours, compared to the 20 percent rally seen on PancakeSwap (CAKE).

However, there were some surprising things, especially on ApeCoin, tokens linked to the recently launched NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection, fell by as much as 80 percent on Friday.

Despite the occasional rallies and crashes, it appears that major (large market cap) cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH have stabilized after the last few turbulent days.

Global stocks were also higher, particularly in Asia, after the Chinese government pledged support for its stock markets on Wednesday. Some analysts expect China’s central bank to keep interest rates low this year, which could keep the economy afloat despite rising COVID-19 cases and geopolitical woes.

On the macro front, analysts expect limited gains for the US dollar, which could have a positive effect for Bitcoin in the short term.

“The US dollar has appreciated since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, which is not surprising given that the greenback has a track record of appreciating in response to geopolitical events,” global investment research firm MRB Partners said in a report.
